mYak knows Tibet's nomadic herders very well. The brand has been living and working with them for 20 years!
They learned to value their traditions, respecting what they love.
What they do in collaboration with them is more than just buying the fiber obtained. Together, they contribute to the future of one of the oldest nomadic populations.
softness
It is a very soft yarn as it is spun from the finest fibers from the Tibetan plateau.
ethically traded
This yarn is 100% traceable, the brand buys the wool directly from Tibetan nomadic herders
exquisitely crafted
Spun in traditional mills at the foot of the Italian Alps, the brand uses a traditional carding technique that makes the yarns particularly soft and pleasant to the touch. To preserve the fiber's natural properties, the yarns do not undergo any bleaching or chemical process, thus ensuring an excellent product quality, respecting the environment and the fiber itself.
This yak is a luxury fiber and unlike anything you've knitted. It is about 17 microns, similar to cashmere.
It's warm and shiny, lightweight and breathable, making it perfect for wearing throughout the seasons.
Colors
Three shades of down are natural (chocolate, desert and oatmeal). The rest are dyed according to hue to achieve the palette of muted tones and earthy colors that evoke the five elements of nature.
Most yaks are darker in hue and therefore light colors are very rare and even more precious!
