Ovelha Negra story

My name is Joana Nossa and before open Ovelha Negra, I was a dancer.

In 2009 when I decided to go ahead with this project, I did it because knitting was something that filled my life and that gave me a lot of pleasure!

At the time, it seemed like a bold step, because I didn't know much people who knitted, but I felt in my heart that this shop would make a lot of sense.

And so it happened. I was lucky enough to be joined by Joana Borges, who is as passionate about this universe as I am!

Ovelha Negra is a shop located in Porto, dedicated to the sale of yarn, needled and all you need for knitting, crochet and other crafts.

All items sold are carefully selected in order to guarantee the quality and purpose of the garments. We always give preference to natural fibers and preferably from certified origins.

We try to have yarn from very different areas of the globe, feeling that this technique is transversal to so many different cultures, which are united to the sound of the tic-tic-tic of our needles!

We think of customers as a large community that extends beyond us and completes us.

Na nossa história de mais de 10 anos, sempre tentamos partilhar os nossos saberes, através de oficinas e de aulas particulares e organizámos eventos relacionados com o tricot, de forma a que as pessoas que habitualmente tricotam sozinhas, pudessem ter a oportunidade de o fazer em torno de uma mesa ou num jardim.

A preparação das suas encomendas e resposta às suas questões são feitas pelas duas Joanas que o fazem com toda a dedicação e disponibilidade.
